Corey Lance Bankston, North Texas robotics teacher, has been arrested for possession of Child Pornography

Corey Lance Bankston, Arrested – A North Texas robotics instructor was placed under arrest after it was allegedly discovered that she had child pornography. The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) detained Corey Lance Bankston, a Greenville High School staffer, on Thursday, according to a story from The Dallas Express. He was charged with one instance of possessing child pornography and four charges of possessing with the intention of distributing child pornography. Bankston may go to prison for up to 30 years. For him, a $320,000 bond was set.

HCSO deputies were executing three search warrants pertaining to child pornography at Kari Lane’s residence. Bankston was brought into prison during the search. The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, Greenville Independent School District Police Department, and Texas Rangers all provided support to Hunt County deputies. In the near future, more charges might be filed, pending the completion of an HCSO investigation. Hunt County Sheriff Terry Jones said he will not tolerate this kind of behavior and that he expects the case to be given high priority.

“I will not allow predators to prey on any child,” stated Jones. “Everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but there isn’t a sentence long enough to serve if you are found guilty of this kind of crime.” Parents of children in the district as well as district staff were notified via email by Greenville ISD that Bankston had been placed on administrative leave and that the district would be supporting the police following his arrest. Texas Scorecard was notified that Bankston had been fired by Greenville ISD after reaching out to the district.

According to state records, Bankston’s teaching credential is still valid. A report in The Dallas Express on December 17 stated that there have been “54 pornography/obscene material offenses committed within Dallas city limits” in 2023. In addition, the city has recorded over 700 cases of sexual assault, “with the current median victim’s age at 16 years old.” Texas Scorecard has made public the names of numerous instructors who have been charged with sexual assaults, and new accusations are filed almost every day.
