Yonis Tomas Morales, Arrested – On December 12, a disturbing incident at the Target location on 13th Avenue E in Tuscaloosa led to a police report. According to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, a woman using the restrooms was the victim of an unsettling incident when an unidentified attacker reached underneath the stall and made unwelcome sexual contact with her. Law enforcement agencies responded immediately to this upsetting invasion of privacy and personal space.
Yonis Tomas Morales was identified as the suspect after a thorough investigation by the Sexual Assault Section of the Violent Crimes Unit. The gravity of the issue was increased when officials discovered, shockingly, that Morales had been suspected of similar heinous actions in the past. Morales was arrested on December 15th and charged with one count of first-degree sexual abuse as a result of the quick response by law police.
