Jaylynn Burbank, arrested after Ascension Parish fatal crash leaving 3 persons dead

Jaylynn Burbank, Arrested – An arrest was made of a driver who is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol as a result of a terrible collision that took place overnight in Ascension Parish and resulted in the deaths of three individuals. According to the Louisiana State Police, the collision between the two automobiles occurred at a time that was one minute before eleven o’clock at night. The incident occurred on Tuesday, December 19, on the section of LA 44 that is situated to the north of LA 22.

Jaylynn Burbank, who was 28 years old at the time, was operating a pickup truck in the southbound lanes of Louisiana 44 while following behind an SUV that had three passengers who could not be identified. The state police assert that Burbank rear-ended the SUV, which resulted in the vehicle veering off the road, colliding with a telephone pole, and then bursting into flames immediately after the collision.

At this time, the authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding this crime. Burbank was taken to the hospital after suffering a minor injury. He was taken there for treatment.  The officials have stated that every single person who was inside the SUV has been found to have passed away. The statements that were made by the troopers on Wednesday, December 20 indicate that Burbank was “displaying multiple signs of impairment” following the accident.

This information was provided by the troopers. Among the charges that have been brought against him are those of vehicular homicide, reckless operation, and driving under the influence of alcohol for the first time. The Ascension Parish Jail was the location where he was sent after being brought into custody.  However, he has not yet disclosed the results of his toxicological examination to the general public. Because of the severity of the crash, a telephone pole was taken down, which led to power outages that lasted throughout the night. It was the St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department, the 5th Ward Volunteer Fire Department, and the Sorrento Volunteer Fire Department that were among the three volunteer fire companies who responded to the scene of the incident.
